Do Christian Scientists recognize Jesus Christ and his importance to Christians?
Christian Science is based on the teachings of Jesus Christ from the Bible. "Yea Lord: I believe that thou art the Christ, the Son of God, which should come into the world". John, 11:27 KJV
The founder of Christian Science, Mary Baker Eddy explains in Science and Health with key to the Scriptures: 10:32; "Jesus was born of Mary. Christ is the true idea voicing good, the divine message from God to men speaking to the human consciousness," and the Bible states: "For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus." I Timothy 2:5 KJV
Jesus' teachings
Jesus gave us teachings that are as important and relevant today as they were in Bible times, such as: the Beatitudes "Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God," the Lord's Prayer "Our Father which art in heaven," and the Golden Rule "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you."
We can all pray using the Bible and the lessons taught by Christ Jesus to become closer to God; to gain a better understanding of him. This is the basis of Christian Science, and Christianity itself. "Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord." II Peter 2, KJV

We believe that he was the most spiritual man who ever walked the globe, and there is much we can learn from his consummate example. We take seriously his charge to his followers to, "Go, and do thou likewise." Luke 10:37 KJV

"Jesus beheld in Science the perfect man, who appeared to him where sinning mortal man appears to mortals. In this perfect man the Saviour saw God’s own likeness, and this correct view of man healed the sick. Thus Jesus taught that the kingdom of God is intact, universal, and that man is pure and holy." All things are possible
Jesus tells us that no condition is too difficult to cure through God's love, "Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth." Mark 9:23 KJV
Mary Baker Eddy states, “The prayer that reforms the sinner and heals the sick is an absolute faith that all things are possible to God, – a spiritual understanding of Him, an unselfed love.” Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, 1:1
Jesus Christ prayed persistently for all mankind, and understood that man was God's spiritual image and likeness. He was not materialistic or selfish; otherwise he could not have fulfilled his spiritual ministry in helping and healing others.
"Jesus demonstrated Christ; he proved that Christ is the divine idea of God - the Holy Ghost, or Comforter, revealing the divine Principle, Love, and leading into all truth", Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, 332:19.
"How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him." Acts 10:38
